This 1993 Supra Twin Turbo
(VIN# JT2JA82J4P0002083) is Renaissance Red
with Black leather interior. It has a perfectly
clean title on CarFax.com (please email me
for the a copy of the recent CarFax report.)
A cylinder compression test yielded the following
results: #1 =151, #2 =153, #3 =153, #4 =155,
#5 =158, #6 =156.
It has the following modifications: Greddy
front lip, K&N filter, Tokico springs, Tokico
shocks, Alpine alarm, K40 Radar detector,
tinted windows, wired for stereo system w/
Phoenix Gold wires, stock wheels off a Supra
with 45k miles (other wheels were wrong size),
and I also have a brand new 3" downpipe (40+
rear-wheel horsepower gain) I will sell with
the car for $150.
After taking delivery of this Supra, I did
the following maintenance within the last
100 miles using my factory Supra repair manual's
recommendations/procedures: main Oxygen sensor
($140), spark plugs, fuel filter (OEM Toyota),
PCV valve/hose (OEM Toyota), fuel injection
system cleaned (injectors could use high pressure
cleaning/flow-matching), battery (have receipts
for all.) I also inspected the following and
found ABSOLUTELY NO problems: computer was
scanned for any engine troble codes (none
stored), transmission fluid, EGR filter, EVAP
canister operation, fuel cap/gasket, coolant
in good shape and full, suspension-to-frame
bolt's torque.
The previous owner said the car's automatic
transmission was serviced every 30k miles
with new fluid, filter, and pan gasket. The
car pulls strong all the way to redline and
the transmission shifts very firm and doesn't
slip or bump the rev limiter between shifts.
He also said the head was rebuilt due to the
valve seals going bad, which is a common minor
problem with Supras which causes a small puff
of smoke when you start the car when it's
cold. The turbos are very clean looking and
both build boost perfectly, therefore I would
estimate they have been replaced with new
turbos. The car doesn't leak any fluids, and
hasn't used any oil since I've owned it. It
has the common puff of smoke on cold start-up
like most Supras, but immediately goes away
and doesn't smoke at all after the car is
started.
The factory 2JZ-GTE 3.0L Twin Turbo is rated
at 320 horsepower, but numerous dyno tests
show that factory Supras have around 300 HP
@ wheels (350 HP @ crank.) I checked the hose
clamps that you would have to move to install
a boost controller, and they don't look like
they have ever been moved (you can see the
impression they leave on the hose), I checked
the 14mm downpipe-to-turbo manifold bolts
and they don't appear to have been turned
(which means a downpipe hasn't been on it),
and it doesn't have a fuel cut controller
on it either. However, if you like I can get
the "BPU" parts for you, which includes a
3" polished stainless downpipe/new gaskets,
3" polished cat back exhaust, GReddy BCC (fuel
cut controller), 52mm boost gauge, and manual
boost controller for only $575 SHIPPED (this
will reliably give you over 400 rear wheel
horsepower, almost 500 at the crank!)
The Supra has every option (auto climate control,
CD/tape/equalizer, 7 speaker sound system,
traction control, power seats/mirrors/windows/door
locks, etc.) I just got the car a month ago
to resell because it was such a good deal.
It has the factory alarm as well as the Alpine.
The interior is great shape, with no rips
or tears in the leather seats due to the fact
that seat covers were used for the life of
the car (see pictures.) Black leather is by
far the most rare and popular color of Supra
seats, but can show wear if not cared for.
These seats look like they have half the mileage
they actually have on them! The console on
Supras is very prone to scratches, but this
one is near perfect with only one or two minor
'shiny spots' (one very tiny spot beside ashtray
and one beside shifter, see pictures.) The
carpet doesn't have any burns, rips, etc and
is in great shape. To my knowledge the Supra
has never seen the track, a dyno, or had the
boost turned up on it. I'm not that great
with body work, but the car appears to have
been repainted (but still has the VIN stickers
in place on the body panels, which means they
haven't been replaced.) There is no rust on
the car. The headlights are not yellowing
and do not have condensation inside them like
many Supras. When I bought the car, it had
some scrape marks on the passenger side of
the front bumper and passenger fender where
the car was pulled too close to a tree and
a limb scratched it, as well as minor scrapes
on the rear bumper and driver's rear brake
cooling duct. A local friend of mine put a
widebody kit on his Supra and sold me his
freshly painted front bumper (no chips, shaved
Toyota emblem and tag frame holes, already
drilled for clear '97-'98 turn signals), passenger
front fender, rear bumper, and driver's rear
brake cooling duct (under the door/in front
of rear wheel) for a GREAT deal, so I bought
them and put them on this Supra. I still have
the original body panels and can take pictures
if you would like proof that the reason I
replaced them was due to scratches ONLY. I
can put factory touch up paint on these scrapes
for you if you like. If you are concerned
with mechanical issues being a problem (although
they are not), be aware that this Supra should
still qualify for Toyota's Factory Extended
Service Warranty. This 4 year/50000 mile Bumper-to-Bumper
warranty with $0 deductible can be purchased
at select Toyota dealers for about $1600 and
is honored at ANY Toyota dealership nationwide
(I can give you the phone number to a dealer
that sells them in Chattanooga, TN near my
home town.) The car has around 175k miles
on it, but looks AND drives like it has half
of that mileage on it. The car was recently
buffed and detailed with expensive/top quality
products by a professional detailer with years
of experience. The paint is VERY shiny and
only has a couple minor dimples on the hood
which are hardly noticeable and could be removed
with paintless dent repair for a couple hundred
dollars (metal rods are used to massage the
dent out from the inside WITHOUT using body
filler or repainting.) I couldn't even see
them until I had the car claybarred and buffed
they are so minor.
I want to disclose all problems I know of
on the car, no matter how small. It is in
GREAT shape to have 175k miles, but anyone
would be lying to you if they said it was
in PERFECT shape, like many people do :) Here
are the minor flaws the car has that I have
noticed: ---missing the spare tire because
there was a custom stereo installed in the
rear of the car (the carpet is NOT cut though,
and I can get you a spare tire/wheel locally
for only $50,) ---the driver's side lower
rocker panel/undercarraige has some scrape
marks because the previous owner ran over
a curb (see pictures,) ---needs driver's side
rear wheel bearing (you can wiggle the wheel
when the car is jacked up and notice a bit
of play...it's causing a slight vibration
when braking because the wheel wobbles a bit,
but i've had the car up to 100mph and it rides
very smooth,) ---needs new traction control
button (like you are going to use it anyway
:) ---needs new ABS sensor (brakes work fine,
a sensor just went bad,) ---driver's door
needs re-aligned (due to being opened/closed
for 175k miles,) ---some scratches on the
rear interior paneling from the stereo install....please
check the pictures attached for close-ups
of minor flaws.
I won't buy a Supra unless it meets a certain
level of quality I look for. I have owned
10 Supra Twin Turbos since 1999, so I know
what to look for when buying one and how to
take care of them. In my opinion they are
the BEST mix of luxury, daily driveability,
and performance you will find! My first Supra
dynoed almost 500 crank horsepower/over 500
crank torque with the $575 "BPU" package I
mentioned above. It could outrun Viper's on
the interstate, and was still as driveable
as when it was stock. It only takes a straight
exhaust and a boost controller to make a Supra
have over 400 HP @ wheels RELIABLY (475-500
HP @ crank.) Considering I have had 9 other
Supras and 3 Viper GTS's in the past, I have
no desire to drive this car hard, as I already
know what it is capable of.
A few Supra owners in the Knoxville, Tennessee
area have seen and ridden in the car and can
confirm my statements above, like Matt Chambers
(2 Supras, 300ZX, RX7), Dave Norman (Supra),
Ian Arnsbach (300ZX), Howie Davidson (RX7),
etc. I own an auto shop and will sale the
person who buys this car any performance parts
they want at better prices than they will
find ANYWHERE, as well as provide you with
technical assistance and advice on modifing
and caring for the car. I have references
I can give you of people who have purchased
Supras from me in the past, they can tell
you they are satisfied with their Supras.
I speak with several people I have sold Supras
to at least once a week, they can tell you
how much I help them with parts selection,
troubleshooting, etc. I am NOT a dealer, so
I cannot help with financing. You can try
www.PeopleFirst.com,
as they loan large amounts on Supra Turbos
(they base your loan amount on your credit
rating, NOT the car you are buying.) Also,
try the bank you currently do business with
or your local credit union.
I will set up shipping the car to anywhere
in the US at your expense. Here to California
is about $750 using DAS, the best/largest
auto shippers in the USA. Please feel free
to email me your highest offer, but right
now I am asking $15,950 to end the eBay auction,
which is a great deal considering the market
value on Supras is only going up. It should
be about the lowest priced twin turbo Supra
for sale anywhere...feel free to email me
any other questions or your highest offer
at Sales@SpeedForSale.com
or call 865-556-7223 or 865-774-5481. I will
hold onto all offers and if the car isn't
sold by August 1st, I will consider lower
offers. The car is sold as-is. Yes, I know
that this price is over book value, but I
also know the market value on these cars.
I am in NO rush to sale the car, so please
remember that I am not going to jump on a
cheap offer. I will not hold the car for anyone,
unless I talk to your bank and they tell me
that payment is on the way. I have missed
several potential sales on other Supras I
have owned because people who wanted me to
hold the car because they were "definitely"
buying it backed out! Not trying to be mean,
just fair to you AND me ;) I have another
daily driver, so the Supra will be sitting
in the garage waiting on you...I don't plan
on driving it anymore until it sells. Thanks,
and let me know if I can assist you in any
way!
