Options Difference between Base and Premium?
Can someone give me the diffinitive answer as to what is actually added with the premium package?
I was at the dealer on Saturday and got to see, sit in, play with etc 2 GTRs and I spoke at length with the GM and the owner of the dealership. On the site and in the brochure they list the differences as:
Airbags
Heated seats
Bridgestones as opposed to Dunlops
Bose Sound system
The dealer told me the nav and the bluetooth also only come with the premium and they only get the choice between summer tires (which are all bridgestone) and the cold weather package.
What's the reality? TNA

008- there is a good side-by-side comparison of the base versus premium model at: www.gtrnissan.com/specs It shows all standard and optional items.
What dealership were you at?

Sorry. Try this:
Google: Nissan GTR
One of the selections will be "2009 Nissan GT-R -- Official Global Site"
Under that select: "Specifications"
That should work. Let me know.
Mine has NOT arrived as yet. It is an out-of-state purchase/delivery. Maybe 30 days away; I hope!! Thanks for the heads-up on Baker-Jackson south. I may go take a peek.

008- I went by Baker-Jackson south. The owner's GTR was sitting out front. It was dirty on the outside, had weeds/grass caught in the passenger side door, had some kind of liquid spillage on the console, has never been detailed. Is using a battery powered SOLO radar detector (good luck on that one). Not a good sales pitch if I was looking to buy from them. This is the super silver color.
MOST INTERESTING: I did see a vin# of 25xx. A high number. If you go by there again, see if you can verify this #. Thanks.

I was under the impression that the US dealers are taking delivery of only Premium Package GT-Rs...am I under the wrong impression?
Has anyone ordered a Base model GT-R state side?

If I go back by I'll check it out. I've been on the official site but the sales manager was claiming that must be a mistake along with the sales brochure because the base car he was in at the Las Vegas event had bridgestones and no Nav/bluetooth. I think he may have been mistaken. The SM is the owner's son btw.
Romper, I was told you could order either but the dealers are all ordering premium for their stock. If it is just those items I think premium is a waste.

I know I can google it. I know what it says in the sales brochure and the official site (read my first post) the question was because of the discrepancy by the sales manager who actually owns one and drives it to work everyday. Just wanted to see if there was any truth to it or he was simply mistaken.
As far as price and paying an extra $2k, it's not about the money, it's about the value. To me I could care less about heated seats and a bose sound system so why pay for it? For someone to buy something they don't want or need is weird in my book. I'll lease you a corner of my desk that'll you'll never be able to use for $2k. Deal? ;-)

My Ipod connector is sweet to have and hopefully I won't have to test them but side airbags are ALWAYS a very good thing.

Your resale is going to be alot less on a base model.... Just get the Bose with Ipod. Almost every single car these days has it. If youre pinching 2k on a 80K dollar car good luck. Have you even seen what the tax you will pay on the car is lol? I have yet to even see a base model listed on autotrader or at the 50 dealers here in socal

i didn't mean to it.
by the way, when you pay 2k for premium model.
will pay back when you sell it.
lots of rich people waiting GT-R..
they don't care about base or premium model.
even they paying 5k~30k over MSRP.
now nissan doesn't need to shipping base model in US.
When you find MSRP or under MSRP GT-R. you might find base model too.

Since I'll probably trade one of my porsches in on it taxes won't be an issue. As far as service and resale those don't really factor in for me because I'll be getting the value of using the car. I have no issue with depreciation because I drive my cars. This one will see a couple of thousand track miles a year. I also don't mind paying for service as maintenance is necessary to maintain toys, it's also a safety issue on the track. People buy cars for different reasons, this thread was never intended to take this turn. To each their own I guess, enjoy your ipods and bose if that's your thing.

The red one is coming into the baker jackson south store in the next week.
$2k for exhaust? Most I've seen are closer to five! lol, First mods for me will be seats, roll bar, harnesses and 19" wheels with good rubber.
