Its like that here in Korea...Some old man hit our brand new Volvo and it was in the shop for 2 weeks, and his insurance co. paid for everything, repairs and car rental...When I droped off our car at the volvo repair shop the car rental company met me there, w/ 3 differnt cars...BMW 5 series, Audi S8, and and Audi S6...I picked the S8 and had fun the 2 weeks the car was in the shop...

The GTR is appropriately badged a Nissan. Nissan is the racing arm of the company, not Infiniti. Would you want a Corvette rebadged as a Cadillac or a Ford GT called a Lincoln?

An odd ball I am too. I'll go with Infiniti. Who knows under Infiniti, they may have thrown in a rearview camera and or parking sensors too.

Not to mention, a 4 year/50K warranty. If I'm not mistaken the Nissan standard warranty 3/36, which is VERY Mediocre for a 70K+ car.

Who knows, maybe that was part of the reason? ..... oh well...

but there is no such thing as Infinity in japan...so it would have bee hard to badge the GT-R as an Infinity...

the only reason Lexus, Infinity and Acura exist is due to the fact they "Toyota, Honda, and nissan" make luxery cars...these cars are all tagged as their original parent names in Japan...Americans had a hard time spending big $$ on a Toyota luxury car, but when it was retagged as Lexus, it got them out of the mind frame it was a Toyota...heck alot of people out there still dont think its a Toyota! LOL

They may not have brought the black edition over, but at least they were gracious enough to bring the GT-R over Can't win 'em all!

I vote Infiniti because Im skeptical of service and customer service at Nissan.
But I think its going to come down to the individual dealer and there service department. Some will go out of there way, some will still treat you like shit still. Also because of the low allocation of this vehicle to each dealer, Many of us are buying our cars from other dealers. I wonder how your local dealer will treat you when you ask for service on your GT-R that you bought somewhere else?! as for a loaner car? its nice to be humbled once in awhile, and a nissan sentra would definitely do that. But just imagine the feeling once you pick up your GT-R after driving that sentra?!

Similar to the Lexus LFA. It looks great but if they tell me that would be the new supra, It would not be as appealing as if they came out with a new Supra, or called in an MKV or something. Either way the new GTR looks great.
I agree with the potential for improved service. Infiniti is starting at a higher baseline than the typical Nissan service department. The Infiniti service ethic is more in-line with what they are trying to acheive with the GT-R. Just a thought.

Information will start to flow out about the various 'HP centers' on the local boards. There will likely be an influx to a particular dealer based on the skills of a couple technicians. There is a very broad attentiveness to detail in the dealerships that I have used; once you find one that is good, I stay with him for continuity.

nissan or infinity..
i guess all what matters now is produciton..
they should double or triple their produced number of cars annually..
i believe that this car will not step a foot in countries like dubai before 2010!

in my point of view,i think it would be ridiculous and an embarrasment for nissan,if the had done that. They did it the traditional way and they got a whole of attention. Smart thinking NISSAN.

It should always be a Nissan. Maybe they could make it a Datsun for old times sake.

I am glad that they decided to stay true to their roots. I honestly think that they should have kep the Skyline name incorporated with the car as well, but that is another discussion all together.

Apparently some people want a Corvette badged as a Cadillac... hence the Cady XLR. Costs more, looks worse, and is slower. It's all good.

Even though I voted for Infiniti, I agree with bcneil!!!

My vote for Infiniti was more a vote of gratitude for the consistently excellent service I've received from my dealer (2005 G35 Coupe; Infiniti of Willow Grove, PA). Based on my dealings with the local Nissan dealer so far I have high hopes they will live up to my expectations.
