Default Water / Methanol Injection System

Has anyone installed any of the water / methanol injection systems on their GTR? If so what kit did you select and what has been the results thus far?

Wow, no Snow Performance for you, looks like you're going top of the line, can't wait to hear how it turns out.

Curious, had you considered the Snow Performance or AEM kits? Why did you select the one you did? Also, do you know if installing this kit will void the warranty?

thanks

Because this kit is made for the GTR. Im out of Warranty, so it wont make a difference to me. I dont know if it will on your side. Depends on the dealer and the connection you have with them.

^My dealer told me if I did ANYTHING other than replenish the windshield washer fluid, it would void my warranty.
I changed wheels and tires anyway. And brakes will change for sure at the first need to replace rotors.

Could you tell me what you mean by the kit being made for the GTR, what is different than say a Snow Performance or AEM kit?

Meth has issues, know some who have blown motors and burnt pistons using it. hard to properly control.

You are going to risk your $25k motor to meth injection? That is akin to playing rushing roulette.

Basically if these systems fail you will instantly grenade your motor.

I have some experience with the snow when I used to have an 04 STI. This system relies on a single boost cut safety system coupled with a flow + pressure sensor to measure that the meth is indeed flowing. However I have seen this system shut off / shut down without triggering the boost cut. Furthermore, boost cut systems don't necessary kick in instaneously, which can results in many seconds of fuel lean condition.

The system may have changed now - but consider your options very carefully when consideing methanol...

BTW tuning for meth is difficult... you need to run a ton of timing which gets very scary if you are not sure your cylinder delivery is uniform. Basically it's like 24/7 single fogger nitrous...
