Drive it as hard as you can push the car to the limits of your driving. But don’t expect Nissan to pay for you to abuse it thats all im saying

godzilla2009 10-07-2008 10:40 PM

hey bacon....are you a nissan share holder??? or you just playing nice guy in this forum because you know that the nissan task force engineers are checking this tread daily to get info on what is going on with the lc crisis...
you are something else lololololol:D:):rolleyes::eek::p:(;):mad::cool:

Bacon 10-08-2008 10:54 AM

LOL, I wish I was that important to have some rank with Nissan.
Hello taskforce members :) There’s a lot of people here in the “shadows”

There is always miss information out here in the land of internet, some of it is helpful, and some of it can mislead you into doing irreversible damage. The whole dealer launch process had so many unanswered questions. So much misinformation. Hell there’s more info on here about the 2010’s than has been sent to dealers.

We all have seen the LC in action, every review talks about it. I would hate to see everyone go out and launch after launch then if/when it breaks be stuck with a 20k bill.
And then badmouth the car/ Nissan b/c they think everything should be covered.

As you can see in the signature I have a Drag FD RX-7. And I have snapped countless Axles, Inner CV joints, transmission tail shafts. Some of the parts are even upgraded 300m material. Everything breaks when you push it to the limit. Sure now that I have tweaked/reengineered the car for drag I break a lot less, since the FD like the GTR wasn’t designed to be a drag racer.

There is NO UNBREAKABLE TRANSMISION, just incase everyone forgot

godzilla2009 10-14-2008 06:15 PM

****gtr hotline and tranny warranty denial******
my tranny warranty was denied today and i was given the gtr hotline number to find out why.
the dealer only knows that it was because i did abused the car.....!%$#$#^& them
the first think that the guy at the hot line ask me was......and i am quoting here :" how many times did you use the lc??? and i was like....what is that??? he got all nervious and try to get to another topic, but i did insist asking him that if that was something that the car was able to do and he said that :" yes, that is something you do by clicking in the dashboard and it will give you more boost and the car is going to run faster"......i was surprise by this because i remember nissan not saying that this was something the acr was able to do , and now this gtr hotline rep is telling me this( i do have the name of the tech).
what do you guys think about this.???? are they trying to do something or they are trying to get you to admit to it??????
oh.......the dealer does not have any info about anything. the manager told me that they (nissan) is keeping everything in the dark. last week they were 3 JAPANESSE ENGINEERS CHECKING THE CAR AT THE DEALER AND THE DEALER TECH WAS NOT PERMITED TO BE CLOSE TO THE CAR WHILE THEY WERE CHECKING THE CAR.............this is very strange dont you guys think??????

mindlessoath 10-14-2008 10:05 PM

in any case, speedforsale is looking for transmissions, send them there way.
The thread is on this forum somewhere, i didnt link it i dont think :(

celsius 10-15-2008 06:40 AM

I think Nissan needs to warrant the transmission 100%! You can't get the 3.5 0-60 time without it! Also, BMW and other manufactures have LC equiped vehicles and their transmissions are covered 100%! If Nissan doesn't want a "black eye", then they'd better warrant the transmission after they break and work on a stronger one so that a "recall" can be made.

IMHO, it's like "dumping" the clutch on an OEM z06! If the rear end breaks, it would be fixed under warranty, because it's an OEM equiped car with 100k mile powertrain warranty!
If the GTR is equiped with LC, the transmission should be able to handle 150+ launches before any kind of failure ATLEAST!!! It also should be covered by the "low" 60k mile powertrain warranty.

godzilla2009 10-15-2008 08:36 AM

with you 100% . let's hop for the best. in the mean time i will be putting my tranny apart to get it repair somehow. :D

Bacon 10-15-2008 11:25 AM

If ANY manufacture can deem it abuse via a data recorder or however they can deem it they can deny a warranty claim/ void the warranty on that part that time. this includes BMW, Ferrari, MB, Lotus, Chevy, Ford. (seen plenty of things on mustangs/lightnings deney'd)

Its all in your warranty supplement booklet.

I know everyone doesn’t want to hear it but its true.

mindlessoath 10-15-2008 11:36 AM

Thats the problem... you can use launch control at your own risk. many people have. BUT the problem is people are abusing that and doing it to many times in such a small time frame. that is damaging to any transmission and not warranteed.

its at your own risk.

The only problem with this transmission is the driver. the abuse they make to it.

GT-ROSS 10-16-2008 12:31 PM

Do you have to turn all three to r-mode to use the Launch Mode?

VDC to "off."

If you dare.

GT-ROSS 10-16-2008 03:46 PM

I need a lesson on how to use the different modes or how not to use them it sounds like!

Greg S. 10-16-2008 03:57 PM

Dealer told me to use the COMFORT setting a lot during the first 1000 miles to properly break in the suspension.

I also set the rev limiter to 3000 rpms (affective in A mode) during break in.

If my car breaks, my Black Box will read as benignly as Mother Teresa's diary.

Scott McGrath 10-17-2008 12:04 PM

This car was designed around two aspects. 1. an uncanny ability to eat up a twisty track faster than most any other car out there, and 2. to be able to be driven any where, any time, by anyone. If you wanted a car that goes fast in a straight line maybe you should have rehabbed an old SS396 chevelle or bought yourself a Suzuki Hayabusa stretched it and put a turbo on it. The one thing that I am not hearing is how impressed everyone is about how this trans does in the area that it was designed around...quick shifting on a road course. I mean guys, this thing is a work of art...it's basically an F1 racer with power windows and a bose stereo. The bottom line is...stop beating your cars and drive them the way they were intended to be driven...on a road course.

celsius 10-17-2008 12:50 PM

I have to agree with Scott on that point too. I absolutely love the car (handling, shift program, looks, etc.).

Greg S. 10-17-2008 01:10 PM

Scott: you nailed it.

mindlessoath 10-17-2008 01:25 PM

+1 scott

godzilla2009 10-17-2008 10:52 PM

not really.....go to japan and see the r32 r33 r34 flying in the 1/4mile
iam sorry , but i do not agree with you....the car was build for racing( racing= abuse in nissan eyes) and the car's tranny can not handle it....my car was 1500 miles the tranny fluid was change at 1k and not even pushed to the limit and the tranny was blown in pieces. not using lc.....just rolling my car while in mud( as the warranty states you can do) and the " so call engineers " that are no more than black boxes readers declined my warranty without me authorizing them to read it and without taking the tranny apart to see what did fail. it may be only a $5 bolt , but they want me to pay 14k plus labor to r/r the tranny....................oh and i can not get the black box readings because as a gtr hotline rep told me....i can not have it....and would not be able to understand anyways...................................
in other words........nissan is f______ing gtr owners left and right...................!!!!!!!!!!

godzilla2009 10-17-2008 10:55 PM

breaking news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you can even drive the car hard without turning the vdc off and your warranty will be voided because they will considered reving the car ABUSE!!!!!
:D:D:D:D:D:D nissan is f_______ing gtr owners left and right!!!!!

Funny thing is he thinks nissan is trying to f**king him lol

Since you have to buy the trans might as well get the old one out and tear it down to see what failed, it is your tranny still since their not warrantying it ;)

Scott McGrath 10-18-2008 01:05 PM

The sick part about this is, people have been waiting for years for this car to get to the states and then they beat the day lights out of the car and blame Nissan...SNAP OUT OF IT. I don't know but I can't think of anyone I know or heard of that is trying to "launch" their Porsche 911 or take that to the drag strip. You guys that bought this car to "launch" it do us all a favor...find someone out there who is looking for a used GT-R and sell them yours...you obviously haven't got a clue what you have your hands on.

godzilla2009 10-18-2008 01:15 PM

for those nissan share holders!!!!!!!!
you can say anything you want, but the fact is that the tranny is weak and underbuild, and that they advertised something that only can be achieved by voiding your warranty .( this is funny as hell) and then, after you make the investment of buying the car (avg $95k) something break and they tell you that you need to buy a whole new tranny/ diff without know or taking apart the broken part to examined and really determine what fail. my car is running 1,2,3 not 4,,5 r........you explain to be what those lc have todo with it if you are using lc in1 only?????????????????????????????????????????????
oh,..................let me guess???????? nissan is going to blame vdc off for ANY warranty claim that will come accross, until a class actionsuit rulling in favor to the consumers(thank god we live in the us) make them realize that this is not japan and here consumer rigths are taken seriously.
*******how come without permission( i did not sign the disclousures) nissan went and pulled info out of MY BLACK BOX to deny my warranty and on top of that...................i am not allow to see such info????????? what are they keeping hide???????? and believe me guys:" IS NOT ABOUT MONEY" MOST GTR OWNERS ARE BITCHING FOR THIS ISSUE.

Scott McGrath 10-18-2008 01:30 PM

I'm done talking about this...it's getting silly now
